Update : Month 1, Day 3 (week 5)
I'm taking alkalizing drinks now.
1. 1/4tsp Baking Soda in 4oz water
2. 2TBSP organic AVC, 1/4tsp Baking Soda in 4oz water
Both twice a day, pref after meals. Read under the cut for longer details and other information.
First, I have to say that I was dreading this protocol the most. It was too vague upon initial reading, but said I'd deal with it once I got there. Well, I'm here now, and I have to say that the directions for this were vague and lacking. Given that this protocol was written for someone going through Candiasis by someone who went through it themselves, it would have been nice for the author to have 'idiot-proofed' the directions. Brain fog is no joke! Anyway, here's what it said:
2. Organic ACV, Sodium Bicarbonate and Water
Add 2 tablespoons organic Apple Cider Vinegar into a glass
Add half a glass of water
Add Sodium Bicarbonate(Baking Soda) until the fizzing stops and drink
Take this remedy at least twice a day outside mealtimes
If you're like me, or if you have brain fog (which most of us who go through this do), then you read the above to mean to continue to add baking soda indefinitely until the fizzing stops in the glass, then you can drink it. Well, I did just that. It amounted to 2 1/2 tsp of baking soda in a 4oz glass of water with 2TBSP of organic AVC. That's right. 2 1/2 tsp of baking soda. I felt ill for 2.5 hours at least. Then I had to take it again in the afternoon. Worse result! Never mind that I already felt sick from it, but not only that, there was lots of flushing, if you get my meaning. I was practically chained to the toilet. My body did not like that in the least and I was convinced this was wrong.
After further digging on Earth Clinic's website, I found numerous people say that the correct dose is 1/4tsp in 2TBSP of organic AVC, and when the fizzing stops, then add 4oz of water. Also, it's important to read comments as there's a wealth of knowledge in them. The original author, Ted, said in a comment that these drinks were designed to work 2 hours after a meal, not before; and certainly not to be taken during a meal. Why wasn't all this made clear in Bill's protocol? The purpose is the same, isn't it? This drink is made to alkalize the body.
So what the directions should have said were:
2. Organic AVC, Sodium Bicarbonate and Water
Add 2 tablespoons of organic Apple Cider Vinegar into a glass
Add 1/4 Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) and wait till the fizzing stops.
Add half a glass of water (4oz), again wait for fizzing to stop; then drink.
Take this remedy at least twice a day outside mealtimes, ideally 2 hours after a meal.
There. Why was that so difficult to consolidate? We're putting our lives on the line here and while the information is free, and Lord knows I'm grateful, I can't help but feel some thoughtlessness shown in the first set of directions. Anyway, after yesterday's horrible experience, I'll be trying the 1/4tsp of baking soda after lunch. Hopefully, I'll feel less ill afterward.
I am still taking the same vitamins with 1 small change that I overlooked. I should have taken the Zinc for 2 weeks then changed from daily to 1 dose weekly. So I've started that and will continue to take 25mg of Zinc once a week for the remainder of the overall protocol.
Physical Symptoms Endured:
- itchy splotches about the size of a finger print have been cropping up all over the upper half of my body, including the face and scalp. This morning, however, it showed up on my hip and in a larger sized splotch. Applying Extra Virgin Coconut Oil seems to help. The splotch usually shrinks to form a pimple afterward with the itchiness dwindling away as well. Several applications may be necessary for relief, and sometimes it returns in a similar area. For really stubborn cases, I use Oil of Oregano. It's all alright. It's probably just the candida being angry.
- Hair thinning still happening. In fact, it feels like it's increased. At this point, I am more concerned with my life than my hair.
Emotional Symptoms Endured:
Just the usual short temperedness lately. Some moodiness, I think, and of course there are some moments where I'm not sure if I'll get through this, but that goes away after a while. I've also been getting some cravings. I tell them to my BF and even though I know the answer, just saying them out loud helped. Still dealing with some brain fog and the feelings about that. Also, lethargy. Effort was difficult especially during week 4 (which I was unable to write anything here)
I thought I was going to die after the 2nd drink yesterday. I think it's safe to say that any kind of logging order is going to be hit or miss with me. Sometimes I just dont want to write.
The scheduling! Bloody hell, the damn scheduling is a pain! Some things can't be mixed as they aren't chemically compatible, like the Lugol's Iodine and the Borax. Then you have things that shouldn't be taken near food so you have to allow 1 hour before a meal or 2 hours after a meal to take them. It's a righteous pain in the ass.
I still have the rest of the week to go, but I wanted to catch some people up. I still have to write a letter to my friend, but right now our apt is displaced due to us having to restrain and repaint our ceiling. Hoarder lady upstairs who had the flood last year is finally showing additional (slight) damage to our apt. So we wanted to clean it up and calm my fears about mold. Mold + Candida = BAD
I did get some good news. The maintenance guys said we would probably get new windows next year, which means we might be able to start using them at long last! I'm excited. If we're lucky, they'll be as good as the ones my mom had put in on her house, but I won't hold my breath. Usable windows would be lovely; and I'd freeze a less!
A friend of mine, Sleepy, suggested I pick up a hot water bottle earlier, and bless her for suggesting it. I love that thing. It has helped me so much. I wish I could sleep with it, but the manufacturers warn against this for plenty of reasons. T_T I do love how you just fill it up with hot tap water, and I picked up the one that retains heat a bit more so it lasts quite a while, plus it has it's own sweater so I don't have to dig around for a towel.
Just took the Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with Baking Soda drink. It was better than yesterday's overdose, more vinegar-y this time, but still not exactly something I look forward to. However, its much more tolerable than yesterday's.
