Rewind Explanation

Hello to anyone who might possibly be following. I had to take a break from posting. Here's why:

LEG ISSUE
I realized the leg issue was more related to my hamstrings when my other leg started to show similar signs. For about a week, I started to do gentle stretches. It started to relieve the issue, but then I stopped and can still feel the tightness. Why did I stop? Keep reading.

WARM WEATHER = MIDGES ARE BACK!
Yes. I got a reprieve on Christmas Eve that lasted till just the other day. Now the midges are back and in my apartment. Roommate says its because we live near the treeline, but we've been living here for 8 years with no issue till last fall! So now, instead of focusing on my protocol, I have to allocate precious funds to finding a way to cope with these bugs for who knows how long.

  • The mosquito tent we bought last year will have to come back out (Note: Midges can squeeze through these holes, but the really fat ones cant. I'll be buying no-see-um cloth to drape over the netting along with a prayer.
  • I found my mosquito hat. I've also ordered a no-see-um jacket to go over everything. So hopefully I wont be sweating buckets like I did last fall in all the layered clothing. Most of which was to deal with bugs and less with cold.
  • Roommate gave me some old unused white t-shirts, since I mostly have dark clothing which attracts the bugs.
  • The fans are once again on.
  • I fill the sink with soapy water and leave only 1 bowl of soapy water out for them to drown in. It works.
The sad part is I think I will have to stop making kefir for a while. There's a small chance they could prefer our apt to others because of the kefir. I'll pause the grains for 3 weeks and see how they do. I have 1 more bottle of milk to ferment, then store in the fridge. I cant believe Im hoping for winter to return again. I can't believe I said that. I miss California. Earthquakes I can deal with. Midges and spiders the size of electric plugs,  good grief, no.

This should also go without saying, LOW LEVEL LONG TERM STRESS is worse than high levels of short term stress.

SILVER LINING

One good thing this morning. Instant Port bone broth. It's my first time making it. (Roommate helped me last night) I just had a sip, and it's lovely. It didnt gel but the flavor is wonderful. I dont think I'll be using the slow cooker for it ever again. Now, lets hope i can drink this before the bugs find me >.>
